After FTX, you did the right thing. You got a hardware wallet, noted down your seed phrase on paper, copy in a drawer, copy at your parents’ place just in case. Felt good about it for about three weeks. Then tried to actually spend some Bitcoin. Which meant finding the hardware wallet (drawer, not the parents’), plugging it in, praying the desktop app still worked, sending to an exchange, selling, waiting, transferring to your bank account. €40 hot dog.
