BerChain continues as a registered association

After it’s initial inception in 2017 by Silvan Jongerius as a Slack channel and event calendar, it is time to take the next steps. On January 25th BerChain e.V. was established as a legal entity with 10 founding members, all closely rooted into the Berlin Blockchain ecosystem.

During the founding meeting, held at Factory Berlin which would also serve as the future address of the association, the first articles of association and the first fee schedule were adopted, and the first board was elected: Silvan Jongerius as President, Ricardo Garcia as Vice-President and Fauve Altman as Secretary of the board.

Registering the association in the association registry

While the usual work under the name of BerChain, including matchmaking and organising events continues, the board has been tasked with recruitment of corporate members, drafting of a strategy and setting up the formalities of the association, including registering in the association registry and with the tax authorities for non-profit status.

We’re looking forward to continuing the journey of connecting and promoting the Berlin Blockchain Ecosystem within this new structure.
